Fox News Gives $1 Million to GOP Gov. Association or is that Faux News?

Posted by politicalmonkey2010 on August 17, 2010

A Tycoon with enough money to mold your views..be afraid people, be very, very afraid

Fair and balanced? I think not, just in case you needed another reason (other than Glenn Beck) to question Fox news and their unbiased presentation of news Robert Murdoch clears it up for you with a  million dollar contribution to The Republican Governors Association.  Unlike the national political parties and federal candidates, the governors’ associations can take in unlimited amounts from corporations, and Fox is taking advantage of it.  Unlike Fox news I am going to also report that they did give to democrats…seems that News Corp also has a Political Action Committee:  News America-Fox PAC.  It has given to Democrats and Republicans, but in far smaller sums, Yahoo’s Michael Calderone says: “The PAC has given $48,000 to Democrats running for House seats this year and $40,700 to Republicans. In Senate races, the PAC contributed $30,500 to Democrats and $25,500 to Republicans.”

So what’s the kicker?  Three of them actually.. first News Corp. opposes proposed federal rule changes that would weaken the position of its Fox network in negotiations with cable companies. Governors may have a stake in the issue. In March, for example, New York Governor David Paterson stepped in with a call for binding arbitration in a dispute over fees between Bethpage, New York-based Cablevision Systems Corp. and Burbank, California-based Walt Disney Co.’s ABC.

Second, Democrats now hold 26 of the 50 governorships, and 37 are on the ballot this year, the most ever. Stuart Rothenberg, a nonpartisan political analyst in Washington, says the Republicans should pick up at least eight new posts, giving them control of 32.

Such a sweep would have longer-lasting consequences than the more visible races for all 435 House seats and about one- third of the 100 Senate slots, and give Republicans momentum throughout the decade, because the governors will help redraw congressional and state legislative lines after the 2010 census.

Finally, third, and probably more important  is the market share Fox news has..(see a detailed rundown of Aug. 13 for example at the end of this post).  I gave this detailed breakdown for a reason, that’s alot of people tuning in for news, and one has to wonder what kind of news they are getting, is it fair and unbiased?  Or is it a news channel with an agenda?  I tend to think the later.  Do we wonder who is inciting and inflamming rheotric?  Is this the agenda of the American people or of a news  corporation headed by Rupert Murdoch, who was been an attendee of the famous or infamous “Bilderberg Group”.  While I am not much for conspiracy theories, this is making me re-think..alot.  Be afraid people, be very, very afraid.  Fox news is not journalism, it is not reporting, it is molding.

What or who is Bilderberg?

Here is a video from CSPAN with Murdoch, interesting admission about shaping public opion or the attempt there of:
